Match Prediction – Pak vs WI, 3rd ODI 2022 – Who Will Win Today’s Match?
Pakistan will be facing West Indies in the third and final ODI of the series, with all of them being hosted at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan. Pakistan defeated West Indies by five wickets in the first ODI to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
Opting to bat first in the first T20I, West Indies looked quite impressive with Shai Hope and Sharmarh Brooks stitching a 154-run stand to put the visitors in a comfortable position. Hope went on to score 127 off 134 deliveries while Brooks fell 30 runs short of a century. West Indies eventually ended up finishing with a score of 305/8, posing an immense challenge for the hosts.
However, when captain Babar Azam is in the form that he is in, there’s little that opposition bowlers can do to contain him. He brought up his fourth century in the last five ODI innings to power the run-chase for Pakistan and they ended up winning by five wickets. Haris Rauf and Shaheen Afridi did a tremendous job for the hosts as usual. While Rauf proved to be quite expensive, he scalped four wickets.
Pakistan seem to have their noses in front while facing West Indies. It will take a herculean effort from the visitors to change that scenario in this encounter.
West Indies and Pakistan have played 134 ODIs matches against each other. The visitors have the upper hand with 71 wins while the hosts have claimed 60 victories.
Head-to-head record
Wins: Pakistan 60, West Indies 71
Last 5 matches: Pakistan 3, West Indies 2
Who will win today’s match – Pakistan vs West Indies, 3rd ODI, West Indies’ Tour of Pakistan?
It is no secret that Pakistan are a well-balanced unit and are difficult to challenge on home soil. The proved their worth in the matches so far and will be looking to complete a whitewash against West Indies. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan have been on a strong run of form and have led the way with the bat in hand. Meanwhile, Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf and Imad Wasim need little introduction and can do plenty of damage with the ball.
With that being said, it must be added that West Indies are capable of their fair share of surprises. They had pulled off an upset against England earlier this year with their backs to the wall and are unpredictable. They will be looking to be more clinical in this game in order to stage a strong fight back against Pakistan.
