The Chennai Super Kings have been there and achieved everything that the Royal Challengers Bangalore desire. The CSK vs RCB rivalry would improve massively if the Challengers became successful, so let’s hope for that in the future. Despite that, with some of the biggest names in Indian cricket playing in this match, it is always one that attracts interest from all over the world.Cricket Betting
Match number 35 of this 2021 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) sees Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) take on Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. This is the first time these two face each other in the second half of the 2021 IPL, with both two sides dealing with contrasting fortunes since the restart.
RCB, who had five wins from seven games at the halfway mark, stumbled to a heavy defeat against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The famed batting line-up misfired big time and were skittled out for a mere 92. The bowling couldn’t do much either with barely any runs on the board. The Virat Kohli-led side are still pretty decently placed at the moment. They have 10 points from eight games and are third on the points table. However, another loss or two may well push the panic buttons.
On the other hand, CSK have a rocking start as they continued their momentum from the first half of the tournament. Their win against Mumbai Indians (MI) will boost their confidence big time. They were reduced to 24/4 in the powerplay, but found a way out of the hole and posted 156 on the back of Ruturaj Gaikwad’s brilliance. The bowling then stepped up and delivered to help CSK surge to the top of the points table.
Since the start of 2015, CSK and RCB have squared off 11 times, with CSK winning nine games. RCB’s two wins came in 2019 and 2020, and they will be desperately hoping to overturn this big difference in the head to head record.
Team news: Royal Challengers Bangalore
George Garton is unavailable for selection as he landed late in the UAE and is under quarantine. RCB lost badly but they may not make too many changes to the playing XI that lost to KKR.
Team news: Chennai Super Kings
Sam Curran is out of quarantine and will be available for this game. Ambati Rayudu was hit on his elbow in the game against MI and he retired hurt, but his X-rays are all fine. However, he might miss this game as a precautionary measure. Deepak Chahar was also seen limping around but those were just cramps and he is fit to play this game.
Royal Challengers Bangalore: Virat Kohli (c), Devdutt Padikkal, Srikar Bharat (wk), Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, Wanindu Hasaranga, Sachin Baby, Kyle Jamieson, Mohammed Siraj, Harshal Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal
Chennai Super Kings: Faf du Plessis, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu/Robin Uthappa/N Jagadeesan, MS Dhoni (c & wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Josh Hazlewood
Deepak Chahar: Deepak Chahar has been bowling really well. He has been superb in the powerplay in the ongoing season of the IPL.
Chahar returned with nine scalps at an economy of 7.26He is the leading wicket-taker in the first six overs this season
He took the first two wickets for CSK against MI and broke open the game. He will once again be crucial for CSK in this game as well. If Chahar can knock over the RCB top-order, CSK will be well in front.
Glenn Maxwell: Glenn Maxwell has looked in good form in the 2021 edition of the IPL. Batting largely at No. 4 and not floating around the line-up has helped him.
233 runs at an average of 33.28 and a strike-rate of 136.26Maxwell is definitely key for RCB
However, after that initial flourish, the ‘Big Show’ has faded away a touch, but he still remains a largely dependable figure, especially in the middle order.
