Multan Sultans will lock horns against Lahore Qalandars in the final league match of the Pakistan Super League on March 12 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
The fate of all six teams in the PakistanSuper League has been sealed, but this will be a crucial contest for both teams as the winner of this match will play the Qualifier 1 and get a second shot at reaching the final.
Despite being in the best of form and occupying the top two spots for a majority of the tournament, Multan Sultans have lost their last two matches and are within touching distance of the Quetta Gladiators heading into this all-important contest.
Multan Sultans won six matches of the first seven, nearly confirming their status in the top two. However, a rapid turn in fortune now sees that top two finish in jeopardy. In their previous match, despite posting a massive 228-run total batting first, they lost by three wickets to Islamabad United.
With this, they now have 12 points in nine matches and must win the last match to secure that spot in Qualifier 1.
Usman Khan registered his second century of PSL 2024 in the previous match, smashing 100 off only 50 balls. His knock included 15 fours and three sixes and was pivotal towards driving his side to a massive total.
He now has 316 runs in four matches at a staggering average of 158, and has been scoring at a terrific strike-rate of 184.80, announcing himself as the biggest game-changer in the team.

For the Quetta Gladiators, this season has been a topsy-turvy ride, with plenty of highs and lows. However, with five wins in eight matches, they have confirmed their place in the playoffs, and now stand a chance of getting into the top two as well.
In the reverse fixture between the teams, Gladiators failed to complete a run chase despite being in control for a while and they will be hoping for no such faltering in this encounter.
English batter Jason Roy has been in stellar form for Quetta Gladiators in PSL 2024. He is their top run-scorer with 249 runs in eight matches, which came at an average of 31.12.
These runs came at a strike-rate of 147.34, further solidifying his status as one of the best limited overs around. Although he didn’t get runs in the last match, he has scored two big half-centuries so far in PSL and is likely to come up with a big knock

Akeal Hosein has been the top wicket-taker for Quetta Gladiators in PSL 2024. The left-arm spinner has been relentless with his efforts and has picked up 13 scalps in eight matches so far.
He achieved these numbers at an average of 19.08 and notably he picked up a hat-trick against Peshawar Zalmi not too long ago. According to our cricket odds, he could be the best bowler for the Gladiators in this match.

Usman Khan’s exemplary run of form in PSL 2024 has been one of the biggest talking points of the tournament. The Pakistan opener has been at his best, smacking big runs with effortless ease in the few matches he has played. With him being the only batter to score two centuries in PSL 2024, it becomes an easy choice to trust him to come up with the best performance of the night.
As per today's cricket toss prediction, teams should opt to bat first after winning the toss. Multan have done better overall in the tournament and if they bat first, they could emerge victorious.
The pitch at the venue in Karachi is expected to be tricky for the batters, but if they can watch the odd one out, they will be able to reap rewards. If the team batting first can post in excess of 160, they can consider themselves favourites to win the match.
We can expect a very decent weather for this game, with the temperatures expected to soar above 30 degrees during match time and humidity will be over 60%.
If you are looking for today's cricket match prediction, Multan Sultans are likely to win this contest considering their overall consistency in the tournament.
