The 29th and the penultimate match of the league stage of Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 will be played between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi. The clash is set to take place at the National Stadium in Karachi for one final time this season. The match will start at a new time 9:30 PM IST with toss taking place at 9 PM.
This is the last match for both Karachi and Peshawar in the league stage. While Zalmi have already made it to the playoffs, it is a matter of making it to top two for them. Karachi, on the other hand, are in a must-win situation and anything other than a win will knock them out of the tournament.
Cricket match prediction for this match is what follows in this article with analysis of both sides in action.
Karachi Kings haven’t played their best cricket this season. But they are still in the hunt to make it to the playoffs and at best, will be able to play in the eliminator. But even for that to happen, they will have to make sure they win this match at any cost. The team led by Shan Masood has to be on its toes to beat the in-form Peshawar Zalmi.
Kieron Pollard has been the best batter for Karachi Kings this season and he scored runs from improbable positions for them. The Caribbean behemoth has scored 238 runs in just seven innings and has remained unbeaten in three of those. His strike-rate of 154.54 is best among top 10 run-scorers this season in PSL. Another blazing knock from Pollard can push the Kings into the playoffs.
Top Batter Stats - Recent Matches
Mir Hamza has to make his tricks work with the ball like he did against Peshawar in the previous encounter. He picked up three wickets and a similar show is needed this time around as well. Hamza has so far picked up 10 wickets in seven matches and even though he has been expensive at times, the man is a wicket-taker and that ability has to come forward for Karachi in this game.
Top Bowler Stats - Recent Matches
Peshawar Zalmi have qualified for the playoffs already and are sitting pretty at the second place in the table with five wins in nine matches and 11 points to their name. They are also coming into this game after a thumping win over Quetta Gladiators by 76 runs. Certainly, Peshawar Zalmi are the in-form side and have all the potential to win the trophy this time around.
Saim Ayub’s contributions have gone kind of unnoticed in front of Babar Azam’s amazing consistency at the top of the order. The young left-handed batter has scored 252 runs so far in eight matches at a strike-rate of 164.7.
If he gets going, the opposition bowlers don’t get much of a chance to make a comeback. Another such knock from Ayub will hold Peshawar in good stead ahead of the playoffs.
Top Batter Stats - Recent Matches
Luke Wood has emerged as the top bowler for Peshawar this season with left-arm pace bowling. He can make the new ball talk and has more often than not struck in his first spell.
He picked up 2/21 in the previous game as well and overall has accounted for 10 scalps so far. His four overs will be massively crucial for Peshawar in this game too.
Top Bowler Stats - Recent Matches
The aforementioned betting tips will help you in prediction the player of the match winner correctly for this encounter. Peshawar Zalmi are the favourites and Saim Ayub all-round abilities might just be enough for him to win the award.
Our cricket toss prediction for the 29th match of the PSL 2024 between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi is that the team winning the toss will opt to bowl first. Teams have done well bowling first here this season and the trend might just continue.
National Stadium in Karachi has seen witnessed not exaggerated high-scoring matches and it has seen the bowlers dominate at times too. The pitch is expected to be a good one again with the cricket odds easily favouring Peshawar Zalmi. The weather should be perfect for the game of cricket to take place.
Peshawar Zalmi are expected to win this match and continue their winning run ahead of the playoffs. On the other hand, Karachi Kings might go down fighting and bow out of the tournament.
