The 12th match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season is set to take place between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi. The match is scheduled to be played at the Gaddafi stadium in Lahore and will commence at 7:30 PM IST. It is a battle between the two teams rooted to the bottom of the points table.
Having said that, Peshawar Zalmi won their last game beating Multan Sultans but they have issues with their batting and will need to sort them out soon. On the other hand, the defending champions Lahore Qalandars have struggled so far this season and lost three matches on the trot as well.
Who will win today’s match? We will answer this question in this article next:
Lahore Qalandars won the last season but they aren’t playing like champions this time around. They didn’t start the tournament on a high losing their first three matches and on all occasions, have batted first. The team would be keen on trying its skills batting second hoping to turn their fortunes around.
Rassie van der Dussen has to be the man scoring runs consistently for Lahore Qalandars. He is the top run-scorer for them at the moment having amassed 140 runs in three outings at an average of 70 with two fifties to his name.
Batting at three, Van der Dussen can run the game on his own terms and showed off his skills in the shortest format so far perfectly.

Zaman Khan is known to land his yorkers perfectly in the death overs. But he hasn’t been able to make a telling impact so far with the ball this season.
Zaman has picked up four wickets in three matches so far and even though his economy of 11.1 is on the higher side, his wicket-taking ability makes him the most sought after bowler for the Qalandars.
Top Bowler Stats - Recent Matches
Peshawar Zalmi are at the fifth position in the six-team points table at the moment. But they will be confident coming into this encounter having beaten the table-toppers Multan Sultans in their previous encounter.
Zalmi will look to carry the winning momentum from the last game and even the skipper Babar Azam will be hoping for a similar performance from his side. However, he will be looking forward to more batters contributing to the team’s score this time around.
Babar Azam runs this team especially with the bat and it is imperative for Zalmi that he keeps scoring runs at the top of the order. The man has so far amassed 171 runs in three matches at an average of 57 and a strike-rate of 143.69.
He has also scored two fifties so far and would love to add more runs in a winning cause for Peshawar. A lot will depend on how Babar performs with the bat in this game.

Luke Wood is a special talent and he has started to make an impact in the Pakistan Super League too. Clearly, his wicket-taking ability with the new ball helped Peshawar even in the last game and has so far accounted for five wickets in three matches.
Zalmi will need him to make the new ball talk once again if they are to add two more points to their kitty.
Top Bowler Stats - Recent Matches
The aforementioned cricket betting tips will help you in predicting the player of the match award winner for this match. The Peshawar Zalmi are the favourites for now and Babar Azam could be the man who will end up making a match-winning impact.
Our toss prediction for the 12th match of PSL between Lahore Qalandars and Peshawar Zalmi is that the team winning the toss will bowl first. The pitches have been brilliant in Lahore and it is expected to be a high-scoring game once again.
Lahore has already hosted five matches in PSL 2024 with four of them won by teams bowling first. The surface is very good to bat on and yet again, it is expected to be a high scoring encounter between two strong teams.
The cricket odds will certainly favour the team bowling first. As for the weather, it is not expected to rain at all during the match time.
Peshawar Zalmi is expected to win this match having won against Multan Sultans in their previous outing. Though Lahore Qalandars are expected to put up a fight, Peshawar might just be too good on the day for them.
