The 13th match of the ongoing edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is scheduled to be played between Islamabad United and Peshwar Zalmi on February 26 (Monday).
The clash will take place at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore and will get underway at 7:30 PM IST. It has been a tough start to the season for both sides and this is a crucial encounter.
Matches are coming thick and fast as Peshawar are playing their fifth match of the season and have won two out of four so far. On the other hand, Islamabad United have won only a solitary game and have lost their last two encounters. A win here will really propel both teams in the points table and hence, this will be a massive game for them.
Who will win today’s match? We will answer this question in this article next:
Islamabad United got their campaign underway in style chasing a total against Lahore Qalandars but haven’t won since then going down to Multan and Quetta.
Posting a total on the board has been their issue and the Shadab Khan-led will have to pull up and return to winning ways soon before things go out of their hands.
Alex Hales is a kind of a batter who likes to get going from the word go and if he clicks, no other batter can match his hitting ability.
He has played cameos so far but not a big knock which might be just around the corner this season. Hales smashed 21 off nine balls in the previous game and will be itching to make it big in this game as Peshawar bowlers are also under pressure.

Naseem Shah is the best bowler when you have to make things happen with the new ball. He can make the ball talk and his opening spell will be crucial in every match.
So far, the speedster has picked up five wickets but has been a tad expensive. Moreover, Islamabad will need quick wickets from him in this game especially to have any chance of going past Peshawar Zalmi.
Top Bowler Stats - Recent Matches
Peshawar Zalmi have found their mojo it seems in PSL 2024. After losing their first two matches, the Babar Azam-led side has managed to win their last two games, albeit by very small margins. They defeated Multan Sultans by five runs and then got the better of Lahore Qalandars by eight runs. It is a chance for them to make it a hattrick of wins against Islamabad United.
Saim Ayub starred for Peshawar in the last game smashing 88 runs in quick time. He has so far amassed 137 runs in four matches at a strike-rate of 147.31.
Ayub opens the innings with Babar Azam and with all the focus on the latter, he can take the bowlers head on right from the word go in the powerplay overs.
Top Batter Stats - Recent Matches
Luke Wood adds a different dimension to Peshawar Zalmi’s bowling and he has delivered to the expectations so far in this season.
He has picked up six wickets thus far in four matches at an average of 19.66 and his economy of 7.45 is certainly brilliant given the fact that scores have been quite higher so far in their matches.
Top Bowler Stats - Recent Matches
The aforementioned cricket betting tips will help you in predicting the player of the match award winner for the match between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi. The Peshawar Zalmi are the favourites to win this match and hence, Saim Ayub is a perfect candidate to bank on to win this award.
Our toss prediction for this PSL match is to win the toss and bowl first which has been the trend especially in the matches played in Lahore. The pitches have been pretty flat and it gets only better to bat on.
Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore continues to host a lot of matches in PSL 2024 but the pitches continue to be featherbeds for batters and it is unlikely to change even in this game. The cricket odds will be in favour of Peshawar due to their recent form and even the weather is only expected to be clear for the duration of the match.
Peshawar Zalmi are expected to make it a hattrick of wins with a win over Islamabad United who will fight till the end but eventually fall short in yet another thrilling encounter in PSL 2024.
