Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals are struggling to get going in the TATA IPL 2024 and in a bid to turn the fortunes around, they face each other in a Sunday afternoon blockbuster on April7 at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.     

Mumbai Indians are still winless in the tournament having lost their opening three matches to Gujarat Titans, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals. However, there have been some bright sparks for the team to capitalise on. The Capitals, meanwhile, suffered a massive defeat at the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders in their last match and are in desperate need of a positive outcome on the field.

The team, however, would’ve been demoralised by the batting effort in their last match against Rajasthan Royals, where they put up only 125 runs on board at home. The pressure is building on the new captain Hardik Pandya and it’ll be interesting to see where this leads him.

The Men in Purple nearly upstaged the recently established highest team total in IPL and got to 272 runs batting first. Rishabh Pant’s blazing knock and Tristan Stubbs’ resistance helped them get a decent total, but they still lost by 106 runs.

He also had a great outing recently against Chennai Super Kings, so this could be the match where he pulls off a special performance.
