Back on October 13, 2013, India and Australia locked horns in the first ODI at the venue. The match turned out to be a one-sided affair as George Bailey’s Aussies won by 72 runs. It was skipper Bailey, who won the Player of the Match award for scoring 85 off 82 balls.
After opting to bat first, Australia scored 304 for the loss of eight wickets on the back of Bailey’s knock. Thereafter, the visitors bowled the Men in Blue out for 232 in 49.4 overs. James Faulkner picked up three wickets.
