This article tells the readers about the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium and how it will impact the matches played there in the World Cup.
The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium does not have a long history. It has only been 10 years since the first ODI between India and England was played at the venue in Dharamsala.
The HPCA Stadium, however, is all set to host four matches in the league stage of the 2003 Cricket World Cup. The matches will add to the popularity of the venue in Dharamsala without a doubt.
The HPCA stadium weather is generally pleasant with the venue located in high altitude among the mountains. The picturesque scenes behind the playing arena adds to the experience of the players and the crowd present at the stadium.
The venue has not hosted an ODI for the last six years. Back on December 10, 2017, Sri Lanka beat India by seven wickets in the last ODI played at the venue.

The venue in Dharamsala has not been high-scoring by any means. The average score of 254 suggests that bowlers have had their say while bowling on the surface at the HPCA Stadium.
It is not a six-hitting venue as an average of around 4.75 sixes is hit in every innings. However, batters can get runs by timing the ball properly. The average number of fours hit in each innings is nearly 21.
The average score of 236 while batting first also suggests that teams should opt to field first after winning the toss. It is because of the difference between the average score while batting first and the average score of chasing teams.
