During the other seasons, the team reached the playoffs four times and faced 6 group stage eliminations. They won their titles in 2012 and 2014, but have not been able to add a third to those in recent years.

The Knight Riders went out to put a total on the board but could only manage 159/8 from their 20 overs. Chris Lynn gave them hope by scoring 51 from 47 balls but his rate wasn’t quick enough, and he didn’t have much support around him.

Man of the match Khaleel Ahmed took three wickets for 33 runs from his four overs, he was brilliant and kept things under control for the Sunrisers. With the bat, it was Jonny Bairstow and David Warner who led the way, just like they have done on many other occasions. Bairstow hit an unbeaten 80 from 43 balls while Warner scored 67 from 38 deliveries. The Sunrisers reached their target and scored 161/1 from just 15 overs, winning the game with 30 balls to spare, this was a very easy game for them.
