Games played: 26

Chennai Super Kings wins: 16

Royal Challengers Bangalore wins: 9

No result: 1

If you take away the no result from this contest then the Chennai Super Kings have won exactly double the amount of games in the overall head to head as what the Royal Challengers Bangalore have. The last meeting saw a win for Royal Challengers Bangalore, but before that it was all about the dominance of Chennai. They won seven straight games in a row against Bangalore, which is the main reason why there is so much between these two on the overall figures that are above.

The Chennai Super Kings always seem to find a way to win, and this is the mentality that the Challengers need to find themselves if they want to lift their first IPL title eventually. They beat the Super Kings last time they met, but now this season is all about building on that and showing they can be a force in this competition.

The simmering IPL rivalry of Royal Challengers Bangalore with Chennai Super Kings began with the already existing Kaveri River water dispute between the two states. Similar kind of rivalry instincts can be well noticed all through the IPL seasons. Referred as “Kaveri derby” and “South Indian derby”, IPL matches keep a special place in the hearts of CSK and RCB fans. The Chennai Super Kings had even defeated the Royal Challengers in the finale of the 2011 IPL. This was the only faceoff between the two teams at any IPL final in the entire seasons, till date. CSK also hold equivalent active rivalries with the Mumbai Indians, too. The upcoming season of IPL 2020 is expected to be a prime entertainer for the cricket fans. Both the teams hold a pretty promising stand in bagging the trophy, next year.

CSK vs RCB 2019

In 2019, the two rival teams came up for the faceoff at the M.Chinnaswamy stadium. Engaging in quite a combating mode, RCB won the match with a thrilling twist taking a lead of just one run. Giving a tough competition to the counter team CSK under the captainship of Virat Kohli, the team survived to excite their fans to the fullest. Even though the counter team, CSK tried their best, including the contributions of the captain cool, nothing did work.
