Pakistan Women’s tour of New Zealand is set to commence with the three-match T20I series from December 3. The two teams will lock horns against each other in three ODIs as well after the T20Is. The series opener in the shortest format is set to be played at the University Oval in Dunedin.
Moreover, New Zealand and Pakistan have faced each other in T20Is only eight times and are playing against each other for the first time since 2018 when they faced in the T20 World Cup in the Caribbean.
Today’s match prediction for the NZ-W vs PAK-W first T20I follows in this article with detailed analysis of both New Zealand and Pakistan teams.
New Zealand Women have only played one T20I series since the World Cup earlier this year. They toured South Africa for the five-match series in October and it ended at 1-1 with three matches going down due to rain.
However, the top players, over the last two months, were featuring in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL). The White Ferns will be looking to continue their unbeaten run in the shortest format over Pakistan.
Sophie Devine might not be at her best nowadays but she is the top batter in the country still. Devine is coming off a brilliant run in the WBBL for the Perth Scorchers having scored 489 runs in 15 matches with one century and three fifties to her name. Her strike-rate of 140.92 is one of the best in the tournament as well.
Top Batter Stats - Recent Matches
In New Zealand, the fast bowlers get some much needed help with the new ball and that could be the difference in the first game. Lea Tahuhu is a veteran in the format and she can take early wickets.
Tahuhu has so far played 78 T20Is and has picked as many wickets in the format and that makes her a key player for the series opener.

Pakistan Women have endured a tough time in the shortest format ever since trumping South Africa by 3-0 at home. They weren’t good enough to win a medal in the Asian Games and then lost the three-match series to Bangladesh 2-1.
The New Zealand tour is an opportunity for them to improve and most importantly, they will be looking to notch up the first win over the White Ferns in the format.
Aliya Riaz might be batting lower down the order but she is the one who can pace the innings with the bat well. With most of the Pakistan batters likely to struggle in pace friendly conditions in New Zealand, Aliya can use her experience of 80 T20Is to score important runs for Pakistan.
Top Batter Stats - Recent Matches
Diana Baig is one of the most experienced Pakistan bowler among pacers having featured in 45 T20Is and 53 ODIs so far. She has picked up 31 wickets in the T20Is so far and has the ability to swing the new ball. Her spell upfront will be very important for Pakistan especially if they bowl first.
Top Bowler Stats - Recent Matches
The free cricket betting tips mentioned above will help the readers a lot especially in predicting the player of the match winner. New Zealand are the favourites to win this match and hence, Sophie Devine is the likeliest player to win this award given her prowess with the bat.
We will provide you with best today’s toss prediction for the NZ-W vs PAK-W 1st T20I to be played at the University Oval in Dunedin. Only one Women’s T20I has been hosted at this venue and New Zealand had won that game comfortably. For now though, it seems that the team winning the toss will opt to bowl first.
University Oval in Dunedin has hosted only one T20I in Women’s cricket so far but two more matches will be added to its records in this series. Chasing was proved to be tough in that game with Bangladesh not chasing well but the pitch for this match should be a good one.
The betting odds, however, will be in favour of New Zealand given their superior record. The weather is not great with rain predicted during the match.
New Zealand Women are the heavy favourites to win the first T20I of the three-match series against Pakistan Women.
