India and Australia are set to face each other in the third and final Women's T20I of the three-match series on Tuesday, January 9. The Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai will host the contest.
India haven't beaten Australia in a Women's T20I series at home. Hence, the Women in Blue have a great chance of making history. However, the task is not going to be easy against an Australian team that knows how to deliver in crunch moments.
India would have been brimming with confidence after starting the series with a convincing victory following Titas Sadhu's heroics with the ball. However, they failed to carry the momentum into the second T20I on Sunday that they lost by six wickets.
They will be looking to bounce back and claim the series. Australia won the second T20I after chasing down a target of 131 with 6 balls to spare.
As per our free betting odds, Smriti Mandhana is expected to be the standout batter for India in the upcoming match. In the first games, she became the fourth Indian to reach the landmark of 3000 runs in T20Is after which she scored 54 runs.
In the second match, she also made 23 runs before getting out. If Mandhana gets her eyes in, it will be tough for the Australian bowlers to stop her.
Top Batter Stats - Recent Matches
Deepti Sharma has been fairly impressive for India with the ball in hand in the ongoing series. In two matches, the off-breaker has picked up four wickets at an excellent economy rate of 5.75. The Australian batters haven't found it easy to get on top of her easily and need to be wary of her even in the upcoming match.
Top Bowler Stats - Recent Matches
Australia were completely outplayed in the Women's Test at the Wankhede, but they made an incredible comeback to win the ODI series 3-0. Healy and Co. did not get off to the best of starts in the T20Is after losing the series opener. However, they drew level with a comprehensive display on Sunday in Navi Mumbai.
As per our betting tips, Ellyse Perry has a chance of being Australia’s best batter in the series decider. Perry, who became only the fourth woman to play 300 international matches, is Australia’s leading run-scorer in the ongoing series. Having got score of 37 and 34, the veteran has looked in decent touch with the bat in hand.
Top Batter Stats - Recent Matches
Georgia Wareham has done well for Australia in the ongoing series. The leg-spinner has been the pick of the bowlers for the visiting team as she has picked up 3 wickets from 2 matches at a stupendous economy rate of 4.82. She will be high on confidence after finishing with figures of 4-0-17-2 in the second match of the series.
Top Bowler Stats - Recent Matches
Ellyse Perry has been in decent touch for Australia with the bat in the series. Although she is yet to get a big score under her belt, she showed signs of taking the match away from the opposition.
Perry has delivered in big matches over the years and it should not raise eyebrows if she plays a blinder on Tuesday and wins the Player of the Match award.
As per today’s toss prediction, teams should have no second thoughts about opting to field first after winning the toss. In both the games thus far, the chasing teams found it relatively easy due to the presence of dew. Bowlers may not find it easy especially in the second half of the match.
The pitch at the venue in Navi Mumbai has been a sporting one thus far. Batting isn't expected to be all that easy and a low-scoring encounter seems to be on the cards. Targets above the 150-run mark will be tricky to chase down.
There is no chance of rain for the time being in Navi Mumbai. Playing conditions will be pleasant with temperatures around the 29-degree Celsius mark. The humidity will be in the high-50s.
As per today’s match prediction, the team batting has a great chance of winning the game and subsequently the series. Both India and Australia have had their moments in the series and are expected to overpower each other in the decider. Australia would want to carry on from where they left off on Sunday.
